When you cook, you're taking on the responsibility of keeping yourself or someone else healthy. Not to put any pressure on you, but the safety of you and others is now resting on your shoulders. A tummy sickness is not the most fun thing to have, so let's do our best to prevent that for yourself and other people you might cook for in the future! The first thing is first when it comes to the kitchen, 'Cleanliness is Godliness' and the reason you're here is because you want to become a God or Godess in the kitchen. You want people to worship the ground you walk on every time you come in and out of that kitchen, don't you? It's nice getting compliments, but it's even better knowing that the people you just fed are going to benefit from it health-wise. I was with someone that just wanted to go to McDonald's, I couldn't live with that decision and I went to the grocery store instead, then came back and cooked the best meal they've had in years. It was worth the argument it caused, and the person who didn't agree with it was thanking me afterwards. They weren't happy with me at first, but they felt much better after they had a solid hot meal in them. Eat more home-cooked meals with organic veggies and fruits, and absolutely no fast food anymore. It's killing everyone, folks! Anyways, I've included some tips on how to keep your food edible and to keep you safe in the kitchen. I hope that they help you become that God or Goddess in the kitchen that everyone wishes would make them a sandwich at least.

Wash your hands before starting
Wash your hands after touching your hair, body, or face
When you wash your hands, make sure you scrub around your fingernails
Scrub for 15 seconds with soap before using water
Keep your hands under very warm water just so germs can't stick
Sneeze into your sleeve instead of into your hand or over the food
Wash your hands immediately after you touch raw meat
Fruits and Veggies do not cross-contaminate other foods
Raw meats cross-contaminate other foods
Wipe down counters before and after cooking
Wash dishes thoroughly before and after using them
If dish is already clean, rinse it off before use just to be sure
When chopping or slicing food, keep fingertips pulled back away from cutting path
Keep heat on stove on medium or medium high, only use high setting for boiling water
Toaster settings are minutes, not degrees of toastiness. 1 = 1 min toasting.
